Education: Masters Degree in Social Work, Adelphi University, Garden City, NY. Graduated 1992. Bachelors Degree in Business and Personnel Management, University of Arizona. Graduated 1986.

Personal concerns can make work a more difficult place for us and for those around us. I enjoy working with employers and employees to create the best workplace possible.

I enjoy assisting these families in identifying their strengths and developing a plan that will address the needs of every family member. Joining families through marriage, adoption, foster care or other unions can be exciting, but also challenging for everyone involved.

Master of Arts in Special Education with an emphasis on teaching those with emotional and behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM. Graduated 1991.

I enjoy working with any client with a developmental disability. As a master educator, I enjoy the challenge of determining how a client best understands new skills. I view all “behavior as communication” and advocate for an understanding of that concept. I strive to assist the staff to understand the reasons for challenging behaviors and assist the staff in supporting the client using positive strategies.

I’ve never met a client I didn’t enjoy working with. My approach to counseling is Family Systems oriented. I believe in giving my clients tools to work with that can help them heal.

I work with a variety of people and love to work with effective teams. People with complex developmental and physical conditions are best served when everyone in their environment works collaboratively. My philosophy is to meet each person where they are non-judgmentally and with respect for their vision of their needs and goals. This allows me to tailor treatment that helps them and their team achieve their definition of quality of life. I enjoy the team process and helping all members of a client’s team work together in their best interest.

I enjoy working with married couples, young children, individual adults and adolescents. I trained in EMDR and utilize those skills to help people dealing with trauma. I also incorporate the strengths of individuals and families in my work.

I enjoy working with children and adolescents and often utilize play and sand tray in my work.  I take a person-centered approach to counseling and enjoy seeing positive growth and change in my clients.

I also like to work with families on adoption issues and with women who are survivors of abuse.
